I was the senior designer for JC Penney’s private label women’s active brand, Xersion. I led Fall 2021’s trend, color, fabric, and silhouette direction. I oversaw all aspects of design and product development - concept through production.
Fall 2021 focused on expanding the assortment by offering new product categories based on lifestyle. Delivering an outdoor/hiking capsule that correlated back to the overall trend direction gave greater depth and impactful fashion pieces that elevated the assortment. I collaborated with Textile Design, providing inspiration and direction for the natural textures. We also strategized color usage and the importance of balancing the deep tones with the pop of brights to show dimension in the overall assortment.
I worked closely with the fabric team and directly with overseas suppliers, ensuring all fabrics and garments were tested to withstand outdoor conditions. The main features we focused on for this season were mossing/brushing for superior warmth, water resistance for rainy days.
